TO SIGN THE CHARTER OF LAMPEDUSA / per SOTTOSCRIVERE la Carta
at Lampedusa island (Italy) during a meeting, taking place from 31 january to 2 february 2014,
in which took part the hundreds of persons and independent cultural associations from Europe
and North Africa. The Charter is thus made from "the down" - directly by the citizens
(wether or not the right of citizenship is recognized to some). It is very important document,
and in some of its articulations and definitions very innovative declaration about human rights
in general and in particular about the right of all to migrate and to settle and work freely
in different places/countries.
We invite you to read it, to comment, to share/forward it and to SIGN IT!
The aim is to gather as much supporters/signers as possible across all the Europe
and the Middle East (and wider!), to make aware the wider public of the problems
connected to migrations in the globalized world, and above all to make strong public
pressure on the EU authorities, and the single EU countries (in particular Italy as one
of the most exposed to the phenomenon) to change the actual, restrictive, unjust and
discriminatory, immigration lows.
